About

PROFESSIONAL

Telling compelling stories is my passion. I am currently a News Correspondent for Univision Network’s Noticias 24/7 (streaming) and Noticiero Univision (television) based in Phoenix, Arizona. During my time in this position I have covered the US/Mexico border, the 2024 presidential election, as well as all general assignment stories in the southwest region; including stories in New Mexico, Colorado and Nevada. As a News Correspondent, I deliver in-depth coverage and compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.

Before moving to Arizona I was a general assignment reporter at Univision Houston in Texas for three years where I was awarded two Regional Emmys, moderated Mayoral debates and covered all breaking news and natural disasters.

Previously I was a co-anchor and reporter at Univision Portland in Oregon.

Prior to moving to Portland I was the anchor, producer and reporter for the Univision affiliate (KUNW) in Yakima, Washington. From shooting to writing and editing my own pieces under tight deadlines, to creating digital content for the website and all social media platforms, you can say I was a jack of all trades.

KIMA Actions News (CBS affiliate) is were I received my first big break in broadcast journalism working as an MMJ. From covering breaking news to pitching enterprise stories, I was able to learn the ins and outs of a newsroom in a very short amount of time.

My alma mater is Washington State University where I graduated from the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication in May of 2013.

PERSONAL

I was born and raised in Washington state. Daughter of farmworkers and immigrant parents from Oaxaca, Mexico: my first language is Spanish. My family’s journey to achieve the “American Dream” is what motivated my passion to tell stories.

I grew up in a low income household, often being the bridge of communication between my parents and doctors, teachers and even employers. As a matter of fact, I often found myself in similar situations helping other Spanish speaking families. Therefore, I decided that if I was going to make a difference I would do so by informing others. Provide my community with the resources to reach their potential. It has also become my mission as a journalist to give those who often hold back due to language barriers, a voice.

Journalism plays a significant role in our society and by informing people, telling the stories that would otherwise go unnoticed and always going a step further to find the ultimate truth, I feel I am making a difference.
